Vetting the Functional Requirements • Functional Requirements specify WHAT not HOW • Shall manage demand • Not “Shall reduce demand using direct control of swimming pool pumps” • Characteristics of good requirements • Unambiguous, clearly stated • Complete • Testable, verifiable • Required, mandatory • No “ands”, no “ors”
