Distinguished = 30 points Recognized = 20 points Active = 10 points • Meetings: 1 point • Donations: $1/1point • Meeting with Pre-PA Society shirt: 2 points • Various Events: 2 points • Fundraising Event (at least one hour): 3 points • Volunteer Event: 4 points You must be a recognized member to run for office! Point System The mission of the Pre-PA Society is to encourage, recognize and promote the personal and professional development of those students who have expressed an interest in becoming reputable health care providers. Furthermore, the organization will serve to promote awareness of the Physician Assistant (PA) profession as a viable career choice, to provide each member with a thorough understanding of the role of the PA profession, and to support each member through the PA application.

Update websites with current and future events. Maintain email inbox. Other duties as required. • Historian Keeps record of yearly events. Documents with photography and log book. Someone that can devote time and effort while maintaining personal responsibilities. Keywords: Teamwork, Communication, Eagerness, Problem Solving, Member Oriented Why become an Officer? Amplifies your PA applications with leadership qualities and teamwork abilities in action.

Next Fundraiser Bake Sale • Thursday, October 18th 2012 (next meeting date) • In front of MH building at 12 PM • Options for Members: • Donate money towards purchasing packaged, baked goods to sell • $1 = 1 point • Bring packaged goods to sell • Assist with setting up, breaking down or selling on date • If you cannot assist with any mentioned above, please get with Jenna…there is still plenty you can do to earn points and help out! • Donations and/or Participation will earn you POINTS! Network here! • To make sure this is the career for you • To become familiar with the profession. • To show the admissions committee that you are serious. • To start networking • To start learning medicine. • To learn your likes and dislikes in the field of medicine. • To gain references. • Its fun!

  11. Healthcare Experience (HCE) What is it? How can I gain this? CNA* EMT* Scribe* Medical Assistant Phlebotomist* Med Tech Social Work *Most of these take less than a semester to complete training and include direct patient care! • PATIENT CONTACT EXPERIENCE - applicant is directly responsible for a patient’s care; for example: prescribing medication, performing procedures, directing a course of treatment, working on patients as an active EMT, etc. • OTHER HEALTH CARE EXPERIENCE - applicant is working in the health or a health-related field but is not directly responsible for a patient’s care; for example, filling prescriptions, performing clerical work, etc.
