  1. What steps can I take to make my print shop more successful?

  2. Do you own a print shop? Yes. Is it living up to what you envisioned it to be? Yes/no. Is there room for improvement? Yes/no. The reason these questions are asked is to gauge the performance of a print shop. It allows you to recall how the business is running, whether you are comfortable with its current performance and if not, is there something you can do to improve the situation? Should you find yourself in such a situation this is the perfect article for you.

  3. There are various ways to achieve better success for your print shop. Some include improving on quality, service, marketing and financial management. Here are a few elaborated examples of how to make this improvement.

  4. A print shop is mainly judged on its product quality. For instance the designs you print on card or t-shirts. Always remember that the more attractive your designs the more they will attract new clients. Graphic design is a type of art and hence you should be able to experiment with your creativity as well as imagination. Look at what is trending for instance in t-shirt printing and try to make your own versions of the trending pattern. If you do not provide different varieties of quality work people will not have any clue as to your potential and they will often go somewhere else to find variety.

  5. Room Service delivery is never perfect in any business. This means there is always room to make an improvement. Customer service should be efficient in the eyes of the client and should make them feel comfortable with trusting you to handle large printing gigs. Restructure your service provision to be more time efficient and also to be able to provide a rapport with the clients. Clients love print shops that can deliver before stipulated deadlines just in case there are any corrections to be made. As for rapport with client, you should try to treat your clients like human beings instead of inanimate businesses. Get to know your clients on a personal level if possible, as this will lead to client referrals and loyalty in longevity.

  6. Give more than you receive. Many people in business do not understand that giving more than you are paid for is the key to success. This translates to that extra thing you give to your clients that sets you apart from the rest. It could be a discount, a small token such as a key holder for being a loyal customer or even a cup of coffee while they await their print. The bottom line is don’t just exchange money for service but also make your client feel appreciated. Remember the saying “the best things in life are free.” well, clients are very conversant of this and they do love free things.

  7. Finally, you need to brush up on your money management skills of a business. This is not just balancing your books but also finding ways to cut down on expenses. Remember the less your expenses become the more the profit you realize.
