  1. Freedom from Worry & Reasoning

  2. “Enemies” of our souls • Worry: to torment yourself with troubling and anxious thoughts; Gr – to seize by the throat with teeth & shake & mangle, like a mad dog would do • Reasoning: endless revolving of a mind around a situation searching for answers

  3. Jesus’ answer to worry • Jn 14:27 “I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” • Rm 14:17 “…for the KoG is not eat or drink, but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”

  4. Jesus’ answer to reasoning • Prov3: 5+ “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding….” • Col 3:15 “Let the peace of God rule & reign in your heart…”

  5. Grace v Works • Rom 11:5 & 6 “…for (they) have remained steadfast because of grace…his undeserved kindness…and since it is by God’s kindness, then it is not by their good works…” • Grace & works have nothing to do w/each other. Grace =peace. • Works=confusion & frustration

  6. Grace leads to believing… • Jn 6 “What must we do…This is the work (singular), that you believe” • Our “do” is to believe • Every good thing comes to us through the grace of God, which leads to gratitude. No gratitude means we believe we’ve earned something, or need to earn something, or we’re entitled to it.

  7. God’s plan from beginning… • Jer3:29 “For I know the plans I have for you; plans not to harm you but to give you a hope and a future…” • Jer 33:3 “Call to me…and I will show you great and mighty things, things which you do not know.”

  8. …til the end…to overcomers! • Rev 2:7, 17, 25 & 26 • Rev 3: 12, 21 • 1Jn 5:4 “this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our FAITH!”

  9. The challenge… • Are we willing to continue to walk by faith no matter the circumstances, no matter the consequences?

  10. Be blessed! • Ps 32:8 “I will instruct you & teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.” • Lk 21:19 “By standing firm, you will gain life.”
