John Kim Syncis Beginnings In Financial Services John Kim got his start in the financial services industry following the closure of his auto parts business, which happened following the Northridge earthquake in 1994. He spent the next two years of his life earning the various certifications he would need to enter the industry and quickly found success. He built a successful organization between 1997 and 2007, accumulating thousands of clients in the process. He then made the decision to form Syncis in 2009 alongside Les Schlais.

After working in the auto parts industry for a number of years he decided to form his own business in the sector. Though it achieved success, the company was eventually forced to close due to unforeseen circumstances, which led him to decide on a career in financial services. After developing his reputation, he left his role to start a separate business, named Syncis, which would fix the issues he saw in the industry.

He has supported a number of Korean America organizations during his career to promote financial literacy and is currently in the process of setting up a college scholarship fund to promote the concept.
