Housekeeping Items • Before we start I want to show you the first little bit of a TED talk that addresses the issue of ‘food deserts’ that we spoke of on Tuesday: http://www.ted.com/talks/ron_finley_a_guerilla_gardener_in_south_central_la.html. • For the field trip on Tuesday, meet at 2:30 SHARP downstairs at the entrance to the building. • The game plan for today is as follows: 1) I will give you 5 minutes to meet in your groups and make sure you’re on one page; 2) you will have 4 minutes to present your group’s basic position on what should be done with the parcel and why; 3) we will then reconfigure the room and give each group a chance to make proposals that can lead to a negotiated solution, interrupted by group huddles to discuss what is acceptable, and try and reach a mutually acceptable solution.
