Creating a MESA Community • Students are invited to a MESA informational meeting where applications are handed out. • All applicants are invited to a parent/student spaghetti dinner. • MESA Code of Honor….. • Before you sign up for MESA….. Think about this, • MESA means Math, Engineering, Science Achievement and more… • Being committed to MESA means… • I want the vision of being a MESA student. • I belong and want to excel in a field of Math, Engineering or Science • I believe I make a difference in the world. • I treat people with respect and dignity (If you make fun of, tease, laugh at others, do not sign up) • I am willing to meet every other Tuesday after school for MESA. • I am willing to be on committees and participate. • If I represent MESA, I will honor each member of MESA.

  4. Selecting MESA Leadership • Students are asked to self-select the position that they would like be in leadership. Positions available • President • Vice-President • 2 Representatives per grade • 1 Photographer per grade Leadership duties include: 1. Communicate with other MESA members 2. Help facilitate meetings and activities 3. Help plan activities MESA Questions for Leadership positions: ___________________________________________(name) 1. Were you involved in MESA last year? 2. What are your strengths to be a leader? 3. What will you give to MESA through your leadership? 4. What do you want to get out of being in MESA? 5. Why should we choose you for our leadership team?
