  1. CHARACTERISTICS OF WATER • Colourless: water is a substance without colour

  2. CHARACTERISTICS OF WATER • Odourless: water has not got odour. • Insipid/Tasteless: water is a substance without taste.

  3. CHARACTERISTICS OF WATER • Water turns to solid (ice) when the temperature reaches 0º C. • It turns to gas when the temperature reaches 100ºC.

  4. CHARACTERISTICS OF WATER • Ice floats in the water.

  5. CHARACTERISTICS OF WATER • Water dissolves a lot of substances, so salt and gases (O2 and CO2) dissolve in it

  6. CHARACTERISTICS OF WATER • To get pure water, we must take the water out of the solution, leaving salt behind.
