You cannot serve both God and money.” (Matthew 6:24) • But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (Matthew 6:33)

  9. 2) Everything belongs to God • The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it. (Psalm 24:1) • We are managers not owners • the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. He called together his servants and entrusted his money to them while he was gone….. (Matt 25:14-30)

  10. 2) Everything belongs to God • What is it essential to spend money on? • How much should I spend on enjoyment? • Is it sensible to borrow money for that? • Should I be saving? • How much should I give to good causes? • You have freewill but what are the consequences?

  12. 3) The generosity cycle • Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities (Matthew 25:23) • Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously (2 Corinthians 9:6)

  13. 3) The generosity cycle • Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full - pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back." (Luke 6:38)

  14. 3) The generosity cycle • There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty. (Proverbs 11:24)
