  4. InVEST & College Connections • Connect with teachers • YAC Speakers at high schools • YAC Council presents annually at Olivet College

  5. YAC Charity Golf Outing • The YACs host an annual charity golf outing that has the proceeds go to MI Future for scholarships to college students perusing careers in the independent agency system.

  6. Scholarships • The YACs offer an annual scholarship for $2000 for a college student perusing a career in the independent agency industry • In 2013 the YACs decided to offer a new scholarship of up to $500 to help pursue a designation.

  7. Project • 2013 the YACs of Michigan chose the National Bone Marrow Registry as their project of the year. • Over 52people tested and registered as bone marrow donors. • The YACs raised money to help off set costs for testing possible donors.

  8. Political Involvement • YACs Attend the IIABA Legislative Conference in Washington, DC • YACs participate in the MAIA Annual Lobby Day at the Michigan Capitol

  9. YAC PAC • YACs surpassed their InsurPac goal of $2650 to have a total contributions of $7835. • YAC Call Center at the YAC Annual Conference raised $8685 for AgentPac, the state PAC.

  10. Meeting • New venue after 20+ years at the same location • Attendance went up for the first time in 5 years. • Marketing was expanded with personal calls and social media

  12. Membership • Michigan considers all young agents members whose agencies are members of MAIA. • After a decline in participation over years, event attendance was higher in 2013. • Mailing and contact lists were revamped to include new agents who wanted to be involved.

  13. Networking Events • The YACs held more networking events in 2013. We started having casual after work nights in bars located in different regions of Michigan • The YAC Tiger Game Outing brought 110 members and families to Detroit for networking before the game and then time at the game sitting together.

  14. Other Involvement • The YACs participated in the Make-A-Wish Walk for Wishes at the Detroit Zoo. They also were a sponsor for the Wish-A-Mile Bike Ride. • YACs helped the MAIA staff at the annual convention by monitoring classes, helping to host events and helping at the registration desk.
