The annual state exams have changed from what were formerly known as the CSTs to the SBAC. What was formerly a paper and pencil test with a limited four answer choices has been expanded to include a wide variety of formats that students can now demonstrate their knowledge and thought process on. CAASPP is the California Dept. of Education’s testing arm that administers SBAC tests to students.
