  1. Simple Solution. Brighter Futures. PET Migration to Unique ID version 10.1.1ESC Training Spring 2017 Presented By: Glenn Shelton

  2. PET Migration - Background PET was first introduced in the 2005 – 2006 school year. PET provides the LEAs a means of locating students who may have left the LEA without formally withdrawing and who have enrolled in another LEA within the Texas public school system. This capability is useful in resolving issues that could result in students being counted as dropouts or under reported; therefore impacting the LEA’s accountability rating. TEA does not use PET data in any State or Federal reporting. It is solely for the use of the Texas public school LEAs.

  3. PET Migration – Submission Requirements PET files are submitted each week an LEA is in session based on their local instructional calendar. PET file submissions should begin on or before the third week of school based on their local instructional calendar. PET files are not required in weeks that an LEA is not in session for at least one day or during the weeks that PEIMS submissions are due to TEA. Exception: Once an LEA has completed its final summer submission and its PEIMS data file has reached a status of “LEA DATA ACCEPTED-ESC,” one additional PET submission is required.

  4. PET Migration - Detasils • Student Enrollment data collection will move from the current EDIT+ Sub-application into the eScholar Unique ID system. • Unique ID will be upgraded to version 10.1.1 after the close of the 2017-2018 Fall PEIMS Collection. • The Legacy PET system will be unavailable for approximately three weeks while the upgrade and data conversion take place. • Student Searches will be performed from Unique ID the same as is available today. • A new Enrollment tab will be available to see current enrollment, plus historical enrollment data. • Current year (2017-2018 YTD ) plus prior two years data (2016-2017 and 2015-2016) will be migrated from PET.
