JerseyConnect is the statewide technology services organization and network infrastructure delivered through the New Jersey State Library, an affiliate of Thomas Edison State College JerseyConnect builds on the Hub Libraries program, which was established in 1998 to help bridge the digital divide by providing low cost internet access and related services to public libraries in New Jersey

What we offer (at no cost to libraries): High speed internet access via fully redundant and scalable statewide network infrastructure Web and application hosting services E-mail hosting services, including best of breed anti-spam and anti-virus scanning Domain name services Router management and replacement services Consulting and advisory services (best effort)

  3. Ancillary services (at no cost to libraries): Real time bandwidth utilization reporting Web site traffic reporting Device and circuit monitoring and notification Blog hosting (Wordpress) Daily spam reports via e-mail Firewall management

  4. Officially launched in February of 2006 Currently serving over 320 library entities Four service locations Three ISP’s Statewide coverage Full circuit and device redundancy

Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Bandwidth Assessment Project Nationwide effort to gather information related to internet connectivity in public libraries The data collected will help the Foundation improve support and funding for internet services and broadband in public libraries The data collected will also inform future Gates Foundation investments to increase and sustain access to broadband internet in public libraries
