Who We Are • Organization of all cardiothoracic (CT) surgery residents in North America – all residents are automatically members! • History: founded in 1997 as an extension of TSDA • Purpose: serves to represent the interests and needs of CT residents • Structure: • Executive Committee (EC) serves as leadership for the TSRA • Four committees: Projects, Education, Membership, and Communication • EC positions are elected at the start of the academic year, residents are free to join any committee(s)

What We Provide • Resources: • TSRA Review of Cardiothoracic Surgery – now in it’s 2nd edition • TSRA Pocket Mentor • TSRA Review Multiple Choice Question App • TSRA Clinical Scenarios • TSRA Operative Dictations • TSRA Podcasts with 97 podcasts and counting • TSRA Intern Survival Guide • TSRA Algorithms – our newest resource available for purchase now • New this year: TSRA Clinical Scenarios – 2nd edition in progress, TSRA Literature Review, monthly resident newsletters, and more! • Networking: • Mentorship Program • Socials at AATS and STS

What We Provide • Research: • Opportunities to submit proposals to conduct research using the nation-wide resident listserv on projects related to resident education and training • Has resulted in numerous publications in top-ranked journals over the years • Any TSRA member can submit a research proposal! • Career Guidance: • STS/AATS Resident Luncheons • Transitions to Practice Resources • Awards: • Annual Socrates and McGoon Awards for faculty • TSRA/STS Traveling Fellowship • Global Surgery Fellowship • Collaborations with Other Societies: • TSRA members can apply for free “Fellow-in-Training” membership to the American College of Cardiology
