  1. Value - the lightness or darkness of a color. Value Scale - a rectangle that displays all possible values

  8. Composition - The way the principles of art are used to organize the elements of art. Space - The element of art that refers to the emptiness or area between, around, above, below, or within objects. Shapes and forms are defined by the space around and within them Positive Space - Shapes and Forms in 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional art. Negative space - Empty space surrounding shapes and forms. The shape and size of negative spaces effect the interpretation of positive spaces. Negative spaces are also called ground.
