  8. Dissemination • Web Search • Google and Yahoo show ETICS portal first (google.com and yahoo.com) for • ‘ETICS’ • ‘Grid Quality Process’ • ETICS in the news • Less action this quarter • Need to prepare press releases for v1.0 release later this year ETICS All Hands - Bologna - 23-25 May 2006

  9. Dissemination (2) • Past events • Europython 2006 • International Grid Summer School on Grid Computing • EGEE JRA1 All Hands meeting • Open Grid Forum 18 • ETICS Training (as part of the EGEE'06 Conference) • EGEE '06 Conference • ETICS Training (DILIGENT Technical Coordination Meeting) • eInfrastructure Reflection Group (eIRG) Workshop ETICS All Hands - Bologna - 23-25 May 2006

  10. Dissemination (3) • Future events • IST/eIRG • Super Computing 2006 • Poster on EGEE booth • IPv6 tests • Training event • INFN/CNAF for Italian gLite developers • OGF19 • Suggestions are welcome ETICS All Hands - Bologna - 23-25 May 2006

  11. ETICS Pre-Release Launch • We pre-released ETICS at EGEE’06 • First training event was a success • Thanks to entire team for their effort • Results: Overall evaluation = 3.08 (0: poor – 5: excellent) • Good points: • Hands-on • Opportunity to meet ETICS experts • Good and useful system • Bad points: • Right button click bug on web application • Editing with CLI complex • Sometimes confusing tutorial instructions ETICS All Hands - Bologna - 23-25 May 2006

  12. ETICS Pre-Release Launch (2) • Second training (DILIGENT) • More focus on the web application for editing • Improved the tutorial • Results: Overall evaluation = 3.23 (0: poor – 5: excellent) • Web application bugs fixed ETICS All Hands - Bologna - 23-25 May 2006

  14. Relationships with other WPs • Dissemination and training requires by definition interactions with all WPs • Since we Eat our own dog food, we are our first users!! • We need to complete the automation of the full build, test and deployment of the ETICS Service and Tools • Paramount to better manage deployment of new releases to production • Repository and plug-in framework requires collaboration with all WPs (see dedicated session) ETICS All Hands - Bologna - 23-25 May 2006

  15. Relationships with external projects • EGEE • ETICS used to build gLite • DILIGENT • ETICS used to build and test DILIGENT software • EU-OMII • Joining the OGF Build, Test and Certification Community Group • User of ETICS for Build and Test • Collaborating on the Repository • BELIEF • Will work together on joint Quality Assurance events • Is this still the case?? • OGF • Proposal sent to OGF, awaiting result • Planning to chair first workshop on Build and Test in January (OGF19) • ICEAGE • Collaborate and participate in training events • Possible summer school on Software Engineering Summer School • Other • NESSI, etc ETICS All Hands - Bologna - 23-25 May 2006

  16. Risk assessment • Definition of the ETICS Quality Certification Processis not clearly defined • Mitigation: involve the Board of Experts, to guide the scope to the certification • Proposed OGF Community Group • Hoping to attract industry members as well to make the group fully representative ETICS All Hands - Bologna - 23-25 May 2006

  17. ETICS Users • Current active ETICS projects • EGEE gLite • DILIGENT • Quattor (CERN IT/FIO) • Potential new ETICS projects • CERN IT/AIS • Lemon and eventually Castor (CERN IT/FIO) • JSDL interoperability tests • IPv6 compliance tests • EGEE NA4 testsuite for GridWay • More… • Training evaluation results • Our support is key in the success of our customers • Hands-on type training appreciated • We need to make sure we keep on providing excellent support!! ETICS All Hands - Bologna - 23-25 May 2006

  18. Web Application • Web application fully featured for Build and Test brows and edit (thanks to Paolo and ENG team) • Now mature way to edit ETICS metadata (reflected in training evaluation results) • Back-office management tools • Creation of users and project with email notification: • https://etics.cern.ch:8443/eticsAdmin/... • Started design of the repository (see dedicated session) • Feedback required and welcome (Savannah preferred) ETICS All Hands - Bologna - 23-25 May 2006
