  3. Can I Go to College? • College is defined by Advise TN as a certificate or degree program from an accredited institution, such as • Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT; multiple locations; vocational) • Community College • Public University • Private University

  4. College App Week is next week! Students will be assisted in computer labs Send a form of payment if you would like them to submit an application Some schools waive their fees that week Some are free all the time (TCAT, NSCC)

  5. I heard there is a way to go to college for free now. Is that true? • APPLY NOW at tnpromise.gov • Deadline to apply Nov 1, 2018 • No GPA or ACT requirement • TN Last Dollar/Gap Scholarship for tuition and fees (NOT books, housing, etc.) to a TCAT, Community College, or eligible 2-year program at a university • Think of it as your COLLEGE INSURANCE

TN Promise Requirements • Must meet these conditions to stay eligible: • Apply b/w August 1st, 2018- November 1st, 2018 • Handbooks will be given on Oct 5 • Complete FAFSA b/w Oct 1-Feb 1 • Attend mandatory meeting 3/21at 5:30 pm at CCCHS • Excuse policy! • Complete 8 hours of community service AFTER 11/2/18 and BEFORE 7/1/19 • IF selected for FAFSA verification, submit requested materials to the college
