Vision • Hoping to engage members of the community and alums to aid in the long term goals of the Curriculum Council • Avenue for mentors, internships, shadowing opportunities • Bringing community members in to our classrooms • Short courses offered by the pool of talent within our community • Short courses at the high school, take two days to take a class in topics of high interest to our students – outside experts come in and co-teach with our faculty.

  4. Communication • How do we get people here? • Who is the most famous alum? • Invite the Student Council

  5. Parents • How can we be sure to attract parents K-12? We have many active parents at the elementary level who may not think this is for them. • Clearly state the goals in a way that is clear about the K-12 intention of the networking.

Teachers, Community Members and Business People • Hampton Magazine Article • Pine Creek Journal (Pat) • K-5 Backpack Flyer and Electronic Newsletters • Web site – landing page for each school building – link with detailed information • Network news – who do we know • Flyers at the winter concerts, High School Play, HMS Musical, Open Houses, PTO/PFA Presidents, b-ball and wrestling tournaments, games, colleges and university newsletters, Mary Lou Elena-Wygonik, Key Communicators, Club House, Walmart, Facebook, Eat N’ Park, Panera • Colorful posters in local businesses – China Buffet, grocery stores, home depot • E-Brochure – send out specific information after folks have responded.

January Meeting Agenda • Large group meeting in the auditorium • RSVP – would you be willing to host a break-out group? • Break out groups – could be formed ahead of the meeting, come back together, share ideas, brainstorm on the topics we provide as well as open conversation. • ?Coffee and Dessert? • Networking time • Collect cards with contact information

  8. Desired Outcomes • Bank of people and places for providing enrichment opportunities to our students that go above and beyond what we currently offer. • Speakers for grade K-12 • Teachers for summer programs • Internships • Job Shadowing • Connections between our schools and our community

Next Steps • Communication plan with Pat • Create Backpack flyer – • Email “Network News” about the event and potential outcomes, ask for contacts • Create poster for businesses • Formalize the agenda for the evening • Post meeting: • Meet right after the event and decide ho we can use them as soon as possible. • Take them up on their offers • Report quarterly about how outcomes of the event became actions
