What is a Social Contract? Definition • An agreement of Behavior Goal • A self managing group
The Social Contract does not • Take the place of consequences or procedures. • Consequences are clearly defined and included with the Social Contract
Question • How many of you get tired of your teachers nagging you and telling you what to do?
Well, • “I am not going to do that because you are all mature young adults.” • “This is YOUR class, so you are going to decide how we treat each other, AND • YOU are going to help each other, AND • I don’t have to get involved, there will be no consequences!”
TEAMWORK • Being able to work in a team is the number one quality that employers look for when hiring. • Why not start practicing that NOW?

For Disrespect • Excuse me…Who are you speaking to? • How are you supposed to be speaking to ____? • Were you talking that way? • How are you going to talk to ______? • So, what is going to happen if you do this again?
