  2. Law of cosines • We can use the law of cosines when we have the SAS or SSS condition.

  3. Example #1 • Suppose that two sides of a triangle have lengths 3cm and 7cm and the angle between them measures 130°. Find the length of the third side.

  4. What if were looking for an angle? • EXAMPLE #2: The lengths of the sides of a triangle are 5,10, and 12. Solve the triangle.
