Choose a measuring tool (paperclip, index card, crayon, etc) and measure your object. Reading/Writing: Read the story and answer each question in a complete sentence. Max got a bird for his birthday. He wanted to teach his bird to talk. He tried to get his bird to say, “Freddie wants a cracker,” but Freddie would not say it. One day Max was eating a cookie. “Freddie wants a cookie.” Max could not believe it. Freddie could talk! He just didn’t like crackers. 1. What did Max get for his birthday? 2. What is the name of Max’s pet? 3. What did Max try to teach his bird? 4. What doesn’t Max’s bird like? 5. What happened at the end of the story?
