  1. System Level Quality World Café • From tribal circles to community coffee and tea houses, from revolutionary cells to European cafés and salons, meaningful conversations have shaped human societies. • World Cafés follow this legacy of friends, colleagues & strangers engaged in lively, cross-pollinating, small group conversations about the most compelling issues of the time. • Encourages powerful questions, candid dialogue, & creative thinking among large groups of people. • Involves moving to several different tables, with small group dialogues followed by full group synthesis. • Café facilitators provide directions at each stage of café. If you see them with their hand raised it means “finish your thought, stop talking, and raise your hand.”

  2. Think outside the box Think beyond current constraints to what might be possible!!

  3. Gathering The Knowledge That Emerges From This Café • Everyone is a scribe! • What you record on the tabletop is your table’s knowledge base. • What you record on your post-it notepad is your personal knowledge base • What you post to the knowledge gallery is the café knowledge base. Community Frontiers

  4. Reflections on Special Session • What were my most meaningful take-aways? • Deep insights • Ideas that inspired me • Actions I feel motivated to take when I return home

  5. Table Dialogues Share your reflections and ideas on: • Take-aways from the Special Session or what you just heard from Marius, Sarita, and Shoji • The general theme of the Special Session • How can the global quality community positively impact system level change in the world?

  6. Round 1 Everyone moves to a different table. When everyone is seated at your table, discuss the following questions. Before the end of the round, pick a table host. Record the best ideas from your conversation on Post-it notes – 1 idea per note. The table host keeps these to post later to the knowledge gallery. • In what ways have you observed or experienced big Q being practiced at a system level? • Have you observed or experienced any quality organization support for the practice of big Q at the system level (in your organization or another one)?

  7. Round 2 Everyone except table host moves to a different table. Table host shares highlights of Round 1 conversation. Then discuss the following question. • What new ideas do you have for how big Q can be used to transform large systems? Before the end of the round, record the best ideas from your conversation on Post-it notes – 1 idea per note. The table host then posts the best ideas from Rounds 1 and 2 to the knowledge gallery.

  8. Gallery Walk • Everyone looks at the ideas posted to the knowledge gallery in preparation for a full group dialogue

  9. Group Dialogue • What recurring or overarching themes do you see across all of these results? • How could your quality organization or the global quality community help make these new ideas successful? • What meaningful ideas and insights are you taking away from this?
