Objectives • substitution of traditional tools for digital transmission • black-board, overhead, projector, pointer, ...  whiteboard • improve existing systems by providing • extended drawing capabilities • object manipulation capabilities • support multiple pointers (tele-pointer, marker) • support floor-control D. IBR-Whiteboard • based on Internet technologies • Java based, platform independent • easy to use graphical user interface • presentation of slides • provides tele-pointer and access control • improved cut and paste • integrated in MBone tools D. Methods • hands-on experience during lectures • lecture in 97 with MBone tools • “monitoring” of selected participants • no empirical evaluation • small sample size • no short-range comparison of local and remote learning results • good impression on technical short comings • technical assistant required D.
