  5. CDC • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention • concerned with causes, spread, and control of diseases in populations

  6. FDA • Food and Drug Administration • Federal agency responsible for regulating food and drug products sold the public

  7. AHCPR • Agency for Health Care Policy and Research • Federal agency 1990 • Research the quality of health care facilities • Identified the standards of treatment

  8. OSHA • Occupational Safety and Health Administration • establish and enforce standards that protect workers from job-related injuries and illnesses
