Election of President • Each elector votes for 2 cand. on same ballot • one must be from a different state • make a list with the number of votes for each and send it to the Pres. of the Senate • He will count the votes in the presence of both houses • Person with majority wins, person with second number of votes becomes V. Pres. • Tie for Pres. House chooses from top 5 • Tie for V. Pres. Senate chooses from top 3

  2. Election of Pres. Amed. 12 • Electors meet in their state capitals • They vote for Pres. & V. Pres. on separate ballots (one must be from diff. State) • Make two lists and send to Pres. of Senate • He counts the votes in presence of both houses • Person with a majority wins. • If tie for Pres. House chooses from top 3 • If tie for V. Pres. Senate chooses from top 2
