  1. 5 4 2 3 1 The starting positions of anyone other than the point are irrelevant. The first two players down the floor get to the block area. Step 1: In the offense is a screen down, back screen, V Cut to get the wings open.

  2. 3 2 4 5 1 Step 2: PG passes to an open wing and screens away. Step 3: 5 comes off the PG screen on a curl cut. Step 4: 4 wing passes to 2 who pops to corner. Step 5: 4 cuts through looking for ball and then setting screen for 3. Step 6: 2 dribbles out of the corner Step 7: 3 comes across the screen for 4 in the post. The key to this is the quick ball movement. If a player sucks the life out of the ball with the dribble this won’t work. At the first run through the 5 man might be open on the curl, but this really works if we get a ball reversal. AT LEAST 1!

  3. 4 3 2 1 5 Step 6: As 2 dribbles out of the corner he was looking for 4 cutting through, 3 coming across for the post, but mostly likely the 5 at the top. Step 7: As 5 catches it should be a quick reversal to the 1 wing man and then screen away. On the reversal the curl at the top is usually wide open, and an eventual backdoor cut from the top. On the reversal and swing to the corner the cutter is occasionally open. On the reversal the post cutter is often open. (This is the desired shot, of course.

  4. 4 3 2 1 5 • The offense is predicated on spacing and leaves the lane open. • The offense can promote high-low opportunities. • The offense encourages and thrives on backdoor cuts and replacement. • A player MUST read the defense and react to it. As long as they understand the five spots on the floor they can use their creativity to get back to the original starting point. • Other set plays can be run off of this and still get back into the motion: • Double screen for a shot • Pick and roll on the wing • Post flash to the foul line
