  1. Guidelines For Faculty Using the Testing Center

  2. Hours • Monday 8:00 AM – 6:00PM • Tuesday thru Friday 8:00 Am – 10:00 PM • Saturday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM • The last test is given out one hour before closing time. • We are closed for devotionals and holidays • Temporary changes will be announced

  3. When Should I Take my Test to The Testing Center? All tests should be in the Testing Center preferably two days before it is to open, but NO LATER than 12:00 noon on a regular work day the day before it is to open. We open tests on Monday through Friday only. We will work with you if you have an emergency, however, procrastination is not considered to be an emergency. Tests need to be signed in and signed out for security reasons 

  4. When Can I Pick Up My Test? • Reports are available after 9:00 AM the workday after the test closes. Other arrangements by appointment only • You may pick up write-on tests early by asking the supervisor to get them for you. We need to write down how many tests you have picked up for our records. • Your test will be held for one week after it closes and then if it is not picked up it will be destroyed.

  5. Schedule Your Tests To Guarantee a Test Date • All tests should be pre-scheduled (Call 496-1750 or E-mail at testcenter@byui.edu). • You may schedule ahead for the whole semester or as soon as you know that you are going to give a test. The sooner the better. • Things to Remember • We do not open tests on Saturdays or holidays. • The Testing Center will be closed for testing when there are no classes. • When you schedule, make sure you identify your class name, your section, your name, opening and closing dates of your test and how many students are in your class. • If you email please specify in the subject area what you are sending and the opening date.

  6. What Do I Need to Do? • Bring a filled out information sheet to the Testing Center. (This is our heads up that you want your test to open). • Please bring a key each time for computer scored tests. • Also bring your tests if they are not Print On Demand.

  7. Test Restrictions • Please do not plan on more than three tests per class open at a time. • We suggest that you do not have your test running more than two to three days.

  8. Two Methods of Delivering Your Tests • Hand delivered pre-printed tests. For computer scored tests you would need to bring enough copies for 1\4 of your class; and a copy for each student if it is a write-on test. (Please tell your students not to procrastinate coming to do computer scored tests or there may not be enough copies ). • Print On Demand (POD) tests. Send your test via email and we will set it up in the computer to print out as needed. Email in a Word or Word Perfect document. In the subject line put your class and test name. You would not need to have a cover sheet or a bar code number since we would do that for you. We do not open your email until we have the information sheet. Make sure that you bring it by noon on a work day the day before your test is to open. • REMEMBER TO EMAIL YOUR TEST BEFORE YOU DELIVER YOUR INFORMATION SHEET

  9. Instructions For Pre-printed Tests Make a cover sheet for each test with the following information: • Barcode in upper right hand corner (Barcodes can be picked up at the Testing center) • Leave the top 1\4 vacant for Test Center use • Put your class name & number, instructor’s name, and test number or name • State what aids student’s can use
