  2. Part I Ordering Procedure I. To study the prices If you want to buy something, you must: make and inquiry get offers from many different exporters make a complete research (e.g. compare the different prices with average price in the international market)

Through exchanging the telex, cable, fax or negotiating between the buyers and sellers, a contract will be signed by both parties.

  7. ◆ Mail Transfer ( M/T) It is a message forwarded by mail instructing a correspondent bank to pay a specific amount of money to the beneficiary of the transfer on behalf of the remitter. ◆ Telegraphic Transfer ( T/T) It is a message forwarded electronically by SWIFT or telex instructing a correspondent bank to pay a specific amount of money to the beneficiary of the transfer on behalf of the remitter.

  8. SWIFT, standing for “Society Worldwide Inter-Bank Financial Telecommunications”. It has over 7,000 financial institutions in 192 countries, based in the Netherlands, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It provides worldwide, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, assistance in more than 10 languages. SWIFT provides messages services to banks, investment managers etc., as well as to market infrastructures (means clearing and settling house) in cover transfer, international trade payments, treasury, securities, foreign exchange transactions, and so on.

  9. ◆ Demand Draft ( D/D) It’s a cheaper alternative to T/T. It’s a written order issued by remitting bank on behalf of the remitter, to pay the beneficiary a specific amount of money, which is drawn on the overseas correspondent banks. 以．．．．为付款人

  10. In international trade, remittance is usually used in the following situations: payment in advance cash on delivery ( COD) cash with order ( CWO) open account ( O/A ) It can also be used to pay the commission, down payment etc.
