Accomplishments for FY00 • More tests were developed for fluid-solver coupling. Particularly, a self-similar solution for the interaction of an isotropic elastic solid with a compressible flow was used to validate the coupling scheme. Results were organized in a paper now in the process of being submitted. • A VTF prototype was integrated in the Adaptive Mesh Refinement (AMR) parallel environment of GrACE (Grid Adaptive Computational engine). The coupling scheme was extensively tested for a High Explosive Equation of State in the presence of rigid boundaries within the frame of the Corner Turning Problem. Complete coupling with a linear elastic Finite Element solid mechanics solver is currently under investigation within the frame of the Cylinder Test Problem.
