  2. What is a DBQ…. DBQ stands for Document Based Question. This means that the question you will ultimately answer at the end in essay form is based upon the documents you’re being given to work with. A DBQ is just like a regular essay, except that you’ve been given some materials to help support your answer.

  3. Directions: The task below is based on documents 1 through 6. This task is designed to test your ability to work with the information provided by various types of documents. Look at each document and answer the question or questions after each document. Use your answers to the questions to help you write your essay. What you need to do! Historical Context: Ancient Greece and Rome were rich in culture and ideas. Many of the ideas we use today came from these two civilizations. From architecture to government to entertainment, the influence of the ancient Greeks and Romans can be seen in our lives today. Historical Context gives you background information Task: For Part A, read each document carefully and answer the question or questions after each document. Then read the directions for Part B and write your essay. For Part B, use your answers from Part A, information from the documents, And your knowledge of social studies to write a well-organized essay. In the essay you should: Describe Greek and Roman contributions The Questions you need to answer

  4. Write an Introduction to a DBQ Revisit the historical context and determine if you can use part or all of this statement in your introduction. (DON’T COPY IT) Insert your thesis statement (should be the last sentence of your paragraph. C. If your thesis does not address the body paragraphs that will follow, compose a sentence that briefly introduces each topic.
