Emergency Care Steps: Step #3 – Providing Care to the Injured or Ill

DESCRIPTION

After ensuring the scene is safe and calling 9-1-1, your next step is to provide care to the injured or ill person. Check for life-threatening conditions and apply appropriate care by following these guidelines: do no further harm, monitor breathing and consciousness, help the person rest, and maintain their body temperature. Always reassure the individual and provide specific care as necessary. This is essential for their well-being while waiting for professional help.
