  1. Maria Gini SIGART Program Review

  2. SIGART Financial Aspects Healthy financial situation (large surplus from AAMAS conferences). Made commitments to increase spending for community development: funding Summer Schools in developing countries (in India and China for $15k). investing even more in scholarships for students to attend conferences (currently $10-15k/year for AAMAS, $5k/year for IUI).

  3. SIGART Membership Relatively stable but decreasing membership. Healthy conferences with many attendees, strong committees, many volunteers, and high-quality papers. The lack of newsletter in the last 2 years and the existence of other choices (e.g. AAAI) are making it difficult to attract new members.

  4. SIGART Conferences Healthy conferences: AAMAS has grown to ~800 attendees. ASE, IUI, K-CAP have a stable size (80-120). Multiple Best paper awards given yearly at conferences. Autonomous Agents Research Award given yearly since 2001 (Sandholm, Sycara, Jennings, Yoko).

  5. SIGART Publications Efforts to expand contents in DL, by adding whenever possible conferences in cooperation, and by considering new contents (e.g., include videos of invited AAMAS talks in DL). Conference Proceedings from AAMAS and IUI are sent to members. Trying to broaden the contents by adding new in-cooperation conferences.

  6. SIGART Other issues Communities are forming within the broad SIGART community (e.g. autonomous agents) and keeping them within SIGART is becoming difficult. Effort to broaden SIGART to reach out to new communities (e.g. human-robot interactions) needs to be continued and strenghtened. Increase cooperation with related SIGs.
