  1. Arizona’s Education Transformation Paving the way to excellence!

  2. Agenda • STC status for 2014 • Remaining reporting windows • Reporting grade marks • Looking forward • AzEDS and the effect on STC reporting • Beginning of Year (BOY) option • A-F letter grades • Acknowledgements

  3. STC status for 2014 • Data being consumed by LEAs via AZDash! • Error resolution has decreased by approx 50% • Teacher rosters are more current • Overall data is cleaner • Data governance has improved within LEAs

  4. Student-Teacher-Course Connection 2013 vs. 2014 As of Feb. 27th

  5. Remaining Reporting Windows • 40th day: Aug 26 – Oct 18 • 100th day: November 25 – January 24 • EOY: April 28 – July 18 • Hard deadlines due to SAIS roll over • Brick and mortar – June 30th @ 5:00pm • AOI – July 15th @ 5:00pm * Windows are flexible to be conducive to unique LEA calendars

  6. Reporting of Grade Marks • A grade mark should be reported for all academic courses at all grade levels when the student leaves the course with full or partial academic progress • Standards based grading: ADE does not require LEAs to change or modify their local grading systems or practices. For LEAs using a standards-based model, ADE recommends they use the FAME scale to indicate either as a progress or summarize grade for the course as a whole.

  7. The future of STC… Looking forward

  8. AzEDS • For SY 2014-15, STC Data will continue be submitted in parallel with AzEDS submissions • Your SIS vendor will provide guidance and training that is specific to their product • Further questions should be directed to: • www.azed.gov/AELAS/AzEDS • AzEDS@azed.gov

  9. BOY – Beginning of Year • All LEAs will be invited to submit their STC data before their specific school year begins • This is an optional submission that will allow you to view your data on AZDash • There are no HQT or SAIS validations of this data • Provides early review of roster data before the first day of school

  10. A-F Letter Grades • Will STC data be used for evaluation? Yes • 2013-2014 Data will be used for 2015 accountability when the full CCRI is implemented • Have the specific courses been finalized? No • There is no estimate on the date for finalized selection. Certain courses will be flagged as qualifying a student for participation in college and career readiness, whereas the end of the course grade may inform the success component • Is there a timeline for full CCRI implementation? • School Year 2014-2015 • Further questions? • achieve@azed.gov

  11. Thank you! • Myself and the STC Team would like to acknowledge all your hard work and thank you for your continued contribution to our shared success!
