Tooling specifics • Hammers with steel or composite shafts • Sockets and extensions shall be pin locked Lanyards and attachment points • All tools at height shall have lanyards attached to a tool bag • Wrist lanyard use discouraged • All lanyards with Screwgate carabiners • Lanyard attachment points should be made so cannot be removed from tool Safe use of Tools and Equipment at Height Guidance

Heavy tools and equipment (≥ 5kg) • Must be secure from falling during transport and use • Secure device must be calculated and free fall tests conducted • Securing points above the work site Power tools • Cables and air hoses must be secured in order not to place strain on them • Sockets shall be pined • Lanyard shall have load appropriate to weight of tool Safe use of Tools and Equipment at Height Guidance
