  3. 1 Kings 8:28-30 Father give attention to your servant's prayer and our pleas for mercy, O Lord my God. Hear the cry and the prayer that your servants are praying in your presence this day. May your eyes be open toward this temple night and day, this place of which you said, 'My Name shall be there,' so that you will hear the prayer your servants pray toward this place. Hear the supplication of your servants and of your people … when we pray toward this place. Hear from heaven, your dwelling place, and when you hear, forgive. 1 Kings 8:38-39 and when a prayer or plea is made by any of your peopl--each one aware of the afflictions of his own heart, and spreading out his hands toward this temple-- then hear from heaven, your dwelling place. Forgive and act; deal with each one according to all he does, since you know his heart (for you alone know the hearts of all men),

  4. One of those listening was a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul's message. When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited us to her home. "If you consider me a believer in the Lord," she said, "come and stay at my house." And she persuaded us. Acts 16:14-15
