  2. Setting The story takes place mostly on a Spokane Indian reserve that is poor and has poor Indians. It shows that Arnold is poor. Without it, we wouldn’t think he was poor or Indian.

  4. Conflict • The conflict is man vs self because Arnold doesn’t feel important, so he is trying to do something that will make him stand out.

  5. Summary of plot Arnold is born irregular. He moves to an all white school. The kids pick on him because he is Indian. His sister moves to Montana. He gets recognized for being good at basketball. He has to play against his best friend.

  6. Theme Arnold wants to prove he is better than people expect. “ Junior attacks life with humor and wit.” He decides to move to an all white school. He wants to get the prettiest girl in school to like him.

  7. Point of view It is in the point of view of Arnold. We can see the world through his eyes. If it were different, we could see what someone else’s feelings and thoughts were.
