  1. Unity Application Generator Step 7b: Generating HMI

  2. After performing step mentioned in document “7a-Generate PLC.ppt”, Click on GENERATE HMI This window will appear: Note: UAG will be opening VJC, generating the project along with screens and Genies. IMPORTANT: Please wait till generation is completed. Steps

  3. After success full completion, this message will appear: Check there must be no errors. Having warnings should not be an issue. Steps

  4. Open Vijeo Citect project by click Vijeo Citect icon: this window will be appeared. Steps Click on “Vijeo Citect” icon to open the project

  5. Vijeo Citect will be opened with the project “MyHMI”. Steps

  6. Expand “MyHMI” and click on Graphics /Pages and open picture “MyPicGroup_MyPic”: Steps

  7. The screen “MyPic” will look like this: note the UAG has generated the genies. Arrange the Genies at proper positions in the screen and save. Steps

  8. Open Vijeo Citect project editor: Define a user by clicking on SYSTEMUSER: StepsDefining a user

  9. Steps • This window will be appeared: • Key-in user name, password (I have used “ad” as password. Important is write enough rights by keying-in “Manager” in TYPE field and 1..8 in Global privilege: • This screen should like this and then click on “add” button.

  10. Click on File  Pack. After Pack operation completed, compile the project by clicking on FILE Compile Steps: Pack and compile

  11. This window will appear: There should be no error after compile. IMPORTANT: If you are running your demo project for the first time, then please make computer setup by clicking on TOOLS Computer Setup Wizard Details screen shorts are given in slide 19 and onwards. Steps: Pack and compile

  12. Now you are ready to RUN the Viejo Citect project. Click on FILE RUN. This window will be appeared: after the RUNTIME MANAGER starts all the process, main screen of Vijeo Citect will be appeared: Steps: Running the VJC project

  13. Main VJC screen: Log on with user “ad” and password. Click on MyPicGroup and then on MYPic. Steps: Running the VJC project Click on “Log On” icon for logging on

  14. This screen will appear: Note that the name of the user is “ad”. Note that genies of all the Control modules are present. Steps: Running the VJC project User is “ad”

  15. Click on Equip1_OPM1, this pop will appear: Click on HMI in the pop up and see the command is sent to corresponding section in Unity Pro. Also check the status of the EQUIP1_OPM1: it must have been changed to HMI, like this: Steps: Running the VJC project HMI selected

  16. After selecting clicking on HMI, click on MAN icon. Click on HMI in the pop up and see the command is sent to corresponding section in Unity Pro. Also check the status of the EQUIP1_OPM1: it must have been changed like this: Steps: Running the VJC project Manual mode

  17. Continue with the EQUIP1_Mot1. Click on MAN; AUTO, START AND STOP function and check outputs in the corresponding section in Unity Pro. Also check the status of the EQUIP1_Mot1 Steps: Running the VJC project Manual /Auto mode START /STOP

  18. Suggestions: Explore communications, variables, alarms, screens and genies in VJC and demonstrate that all these aspects are generated automatically by UAG. Steps: Running the VJC project

  19. IMPORTANT: Required only if you are running a VJC project for the first time. Click on TOOLS Computer Setup Wizard in Citect Project editor. This window will appear: Keep on moving to next step after ensuring the parameters are set as given in these screen shots. Steps: Computer set up wizard
