Outline of Project Activities • Development of the new curriculum • Labour market analysis, develop structure/contents • Curriculum meeting, Workshop on draft curriculum • Training of KSUCTA/KAU staff members (35 teachers) • 2+2 MSc students at KTH, Sweden & 1 at PLUS, Austria • Geodetic equipment training course at KTH, Sweden • GIS training course at PLUS, Austria • Geodesy/mapping/GIS training courses in Bishkek • Acquisition of modern geodetic/GIS equipment • GIS software (ArcGIS 9) • Computers and network facilities • Totalstations, GPS receivers with software, automatic levels • Digital photogrammetric workstations The Department ”Geodesy and Geoinformatics” is established at KSUCTA.

Curriculum development • Joint curriculum for KSUCTA and KAU • 2-levels system: 4-years BSc + 2-years MSc • Bachelor Program – 8 semesters (240 credits, 4 years) • Master Program - 4 semesters (120 credits after Bachelor Program) • Updated geodesy courses • Significant amount of GIS courses • Follow the Kyrgyz national regulations • New MSc Program in Geodesy is started at KSUCTA

  7. Equipment purchased • 27 Pentium 4 PCs (25 desktops, 2 Laptops) • 2 Leica TC802 totalstations, 2 Leica DISTO A5 • 7 Leica automatic levels, NA 730 • 2 Leica GPS receivers, SR20 • 2 digital photogrammetric workstations • 1 Plotter • Literature

Outline of Project Activities • Development of the new curriculum • Labour market analysis, development of structure/contents • Curriculum approval • Training of KSUCTA staff members (12 teachers) • 2 MSc students at KTH • Training courses at KTH and TUT, Estonia • Training course in Bishkek • Acquisition of modern laboratory equipment and literature • Establishment of the Centre of Industrial Ecology at KSUCTA.

Centre of Industrial Ecology at KSUCTA The Centre of Industrial Ecology has been created at KSUCTA in order to facilitate environmental education in Kyrgyzstan. http://www.inecol.web.kg The Centre provides facilities not only for education and training purposes, but also for carrying out practical seminars and scientific conferences within Industrial Ecology area and for R&D projects, including joint European projects. Modern package of equipment, hardware and literature on environmental protection and industrial ecology are purchased.
