  2. EXPECTATIONS • Be on time, in dress code, on task, and prepared to learn EVERYDAY! • Materials and supplies should be with you daily. You will not be able to leave class for supplies or your assignments once class has started. • If you are not in your assigned seat when the tardy bell rings you are LATE and marked accordingly!!!!!!! Procedure of Alvin ISD is we can’t leave the first or the last ten minutes of class. 10/10 Rule • Attendance is taken nine minutes into the class. Any student arriving after 10 minutes will be counted as absent. A referral will be entered into Skyward.

  3. EXPECTATIONS CON’T. • Keep all personal devices out of sight. When you enter the room devices are not to be used. If you are using it, it will be confiscated and turned in at the office. You will be able to pick it up at the end of the day in the office for $15.00. • When leaving for the restroom you will receive a pass in exchange for your device. You are not able to take your phone. Students are required to use the nearest restroom. You can not roam the halls. • Library passes are only provided at the instructor's discretion. You will again receive a pass in exchange for your device. • Only one student is allowed to use the restroom at a time. You are not able to visit or disturb another teacher while on my class time. • Students may not go to the auditorium, gym or parking lot during class. These areas are off limits.

  4. I WILL NOT BE CHARGING YOUR CELL PHONE. Not seen, not heard, not taken! Please do not take your phone out to be charged. If you must call your parent or guardian you will be instructed to use the classroom phone but only for emergencies. Parents should contact the school in the event of a family emergency . Please do ask to answer a call from your parent they are aware of our policy!!! If a phone should alert or ring during class time a Skyward referral will be written. Students should therefore turn phones off at all times when in class.

  5. CON’T On certain occasions we will use cell phones for Kahoot or other instructional apps. Please bear in mind if a lesson plan has not designated use of phones,there will be no phones used in the classroom.

  6. EXPECTATIONS CON’T. • You are responsible for your own learning. You may not complete or copy another student’s work, test or project. Your work is your own. Do not “borrow”. • I am interested in what you have to say. I can’t tolerate plagiarism. Any student caught duplicating and copying work from a source that is not theirs will receive a zero. • Videos may be used for academic purposes. Videos are not for naps. • Group work represents the total work of all students. Students found not contributing will receive a zero.

  7. A QUESTION YOUR TEACHER NEVER WANTS TO ASK A STUDENT ?????

CON’T. • Respect your teacher, your self, your classroom and other students. • There will be no walking or roaming the room during lecture. • Completing or completion of outside course work will result in it being taken up. Please respect your learning opportunity for this class. • Students are not to talk when the instructor is teaching. Raise your hand if you have a question.

  9. EXPECTATIONS CON’T. • Late work will automatically have 15 points deducted each day it is not turned in on time. If an assignment is homework it is due at the beginning of class. OTHERWISE IT IS LATE. • Please include your name, class period and date on all of your work. • Please include everyone’s name on all group projects with the date and class period. • Work that has grammatical errors or missing information will have 2 points deducted for each mistake. • You are responsible for your work being turned in on time when you are absent. Once materials areuploaded online or assigned the due date is final. • Any late work turned in after the 4th day will result in a 60% deduction of your overall assigned grade.

  11. CON’T. • Teacher space in completely off limits. This includes the soft seating, desk, computer and teachers personal work space and belongings. • Lunch is to be eaten in the cafeteria and in designated lunch areas; not in class.

  12. CON’T. Teacher’s refrigerator and microwave are personal and not for the use of students.

  13. CON’T. Trash is for the garbage can. During lab or training days please do not litter . Keep all areas as neat as possible. Please clean up after yourself. Meals/ snacks/ drinks/water should be consumed in the cafeteria. Please be of mindful students who suffer from food allergies; especially peanuts. Because of the seriousness of this allergen you are not allowed to eat food in class or share food.

  14. CON’T. Student’s are expected to come to class groomed. All makeup, combs, brushes, mirrors etc. are to be put away when entering the room. Please respect the hygiene of the class and take care of your personal business either before school or during class breaks. Students who are not in dress code will receive a referral in Skyward. Any teacher who observes a student out of dress code can enter a referral in Skyward. No questions asked. A teacher does not need student or parental permission to enter a referral in Skyward. Teachers further do not have to inform students of Skyward referrals. Discipline is always administered by the assistant principals or the principal. Please do not ask your teacher to uphold your violations.

  17. CONSEQUENCES All disciplinary actions will be logged in Skyward. Possible oder or consequences: I. Warning • Call Home and possible PTC (parent teacher conference) • Referral The sequential order of consequences is not guaranteed for major violations of student conduct; i.e. fighting, threats or profanity can result in an immediate referral. Students who are suspected of being in possession of illegal substances will be referred to the nearest AP immediately.

  18. REMOVE HOODIES AND HEADPHONES!!! Not seen, not heard,not taken.

  19. CON’T. • Sleeping in class is considered insubordination and unprofessional. It is a violation of the program syllabus and student conduct that you have signed. Asleep students will be awaken and required to stand for the remaining of class.

  20. DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY • All CTE equipment and school materials are inventoried and are here for the betterment of your education and has been made available to you through Alvin ISD. Please be mindful of this and take care of them. Return everything at the end of the class period in the same condition in which you received it. Don’t write, doodle, highlight, vandalize, sign any of the CTE equipment, furniture, walls, etc. • Missing supplies may result in fees billable to you and your family. • Please don’t remove anything from class without permission. Don’t assume permission has been granted in this class because of permission from another instructor. • All indecent images or profanity on property is an immediate referral.

  21. Fire Drills, Lock Down, Lock Out, ETC. Students will receive a daily grade anytime there is a drill. You are expected to treat each drill as if it is an actual event for safety purposes. When evacuating for fire drills, each student is expected walk orderly out of the building in a single file line to a designated location. There will be a sign with my name on it that you must stand near for attendance. Any student who fails to be present for attendance will receive a zero for a daily grade. Belongings are to be left in the class. During Lock Down, Lock Out, Shelter in Place and Evacuations students must follow instructions, no exceptions. Due to the serious nature of these drills any student not in compliance willreceive a referral in Skyward and zero for the daily grade.

  22. Substitute Teachers Only on rare occurrences am I absent. In the event I am out, students are to carry on in a respectful and polite manner as if I am present. You may not ask to leave the room for the library, to walk the halls, go to the cafeteria or another teacher’s room. Failure to comply with a substitute teacher will result in a referral upon my return no exceptions,

  23. Computer Use When computers are available they are strictly for academic purposes. Computers are not to be used for movies, games or Social Media. Please be mindful that the district monitors internet use.
