  2. Consultant: An individual who is hired into an organization to identify problems affecting organizational success. He/she provides expert advice/support, with the goal of finding solutions to improve performance/solve problems.

  3. Session Objectives • Describe zone chairperson as a ‘club consultant’ • Identify healthy clubs/clubs in need of improvement • Select resources to support clubs • Identify solutions using a problem-solving process

  4. Strategies for Determining Club Health • Club visits • Reports: • Club health assessment • Membership reports • Talk to club officers/members/guiding Lions • e-Clubhouses/club websites

  5. Resources for Supporting Clubs To access resources on the LCI Web site: Use the ‘search’ feature by entering resource keywords or publication codes into the box. Then click the blue arrow to begin your search!

  7. 5 Steps for Solving Problems • Define the problem • Gather information • Develop alternative solutions • Consider alternatives and select the best solution • Implement the solution

  8. ACTIVITY: Club Problem Solving • Individually: • Review information gathered in the assignment • Select 1 club problem and share it with your small group • As a group: • Select 1 group member’s club problem and use it to complete steps 1-4 onpage 6 • Be prepared to share group work in 20:00
