Foster School Undergraduate Application • Two applications required • One to UW Office of Admissions (Feb. 15th & Sept. 1st) • One to Foster School of Business (April 5th & Oct. 5th) • Prerequisite coursework: • Pre-Application Courses (completed prior to the application deadline) • English Composition • Micro or Macro Economics • Financial Accounting (201 & 202) • Calculus • Pre-Admission Courses (completed prior to enrolling in the Foster School) • Managerial Accounting (203) • Macro/Micro Economics • Statistics • Law/Business Law • Writing Skills Assessment • Personal Statement

Written Skills Assessment (WSA) • 90 minute timed test • Persuasion Task – workplace scenario • persuade readers of your point of view or recommended action. • Position Task – statement • explain why you would accept, reject, or alter the statement. • Essays scored on a 1 (low) to 6 (high) scale

  9. Personal Statement (Supplemental Factors) • Describe any personal or economic hardships or barriers you have had to overcome and explain how they affected your education. Be specific about when you encountered these hardships and how long they lasted. • In the context of your life experience, describe your understanding of cultural differences, how this awareness was acquired, and how it affected you. • Write about any experience you have had that demonstrates your leadership skills. • How has the educational background of your parent/legal guardians influenced your own education, especially your decision to go to college? What kind of support did you receive in making and pursuing the decision to go to college? Please tell us if you are among the first generation to go to college.

Application Requirements • Minimum Application Requirements: • Complete a minimum of 60 transferable college credits • Complete the Pre Application requirements • Calculus • English Composition • Micro/Macro Economics • Financial Accounting • Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA for each of the following: • All college credits • All business course credits • Minimum WSA score of a 3 (1-6 pt scale)

  11. Application Review Process • Initial Review – Quantitative Scores • Pre Application GPA – 25% • English Composition • Micro or Macro Economics • Financial Accounting (201 & 202) • Calculus • Cumulative GPA – 40% • WSA Score – 35% • Secondary Review – Personal Statement
