The idea behind this presentation is to introduce students to basic literature on the following topics: 1) Introductions to Linguistics 2) Dictionaries of Linguistics 3) Overviews of the English Language 4) Overviews of Literature in English 5) Overviews of Cultural Studies and Postcolonialism 6) Dictionaries of the English Language 7) Grammars of the English Language All students should have one book from each of the above groups which they can consult throughout their entire period of study. I have made some recommendations throughout this presentation, just in case students are uncertain about what books to choose.
