  5. Work-1: What is sentence ? • A group of words or a single word that expresses a complete thought, feeling or idea. Example of a sentence : This is a ball.

  6. Assertive Sentence A simple statement can be called an Assertive Sentence (or) Statement Sentence. He goes He goes to school. to school. Structure : Subject + Verb + Object.

  7. Interrogative sentence • A type of sentence that asks a question. Do you learn your lesson ? Structure : Do/Does/Did/Be verb + Subject + Principal verb + Extension ?

  8. Imperative sentence An imperative sentence is a sentence that gives advice or instructions or that expresses a request or command. Don’t quarrel. Structure : Verb + Extension.

  9. Optative sentence • An optative sentence is one that expresses a wish, hope or desire. May our parents live long. Structure : May + Subject + Verb + Extension.

  10. Exclamatory sentence • A type of sentence that expresses strong feelings by making an exclamation. What it is ! a joyful scenery Structure : What/How + Adjective + Subject + Extension !
