11th Avenue ‘Theater’ • Closed-course route directly in front of Javits convention center on 11th Avenue • Demos over four days, November 17 – 20, 2008 • V2I and V2V demos possible • Use 35th and 38th St. intersections for demonstrations • Disable or steady green on 36th and 37th St. intersections to avoid interference with demos at 35th and 38th
Infrastructure Requirements • Denso WSU as RSE at 35th and 38th St. intersections, connected via Ethernet to Siemens controller (Eagle EPAC 3108 M52 with CICAS firmware version) at each intersection for SPAT • Need to know if intersections are fixed timing or actuated • DGPS base station (OEMV-1) installed with each RSE • 12 VDC to RSE and DGPS units, use UPS for power conditioning • Secure weathertight enclosure for above items, mounted on same pole as traffic cabinet, accessible from ground or ladder • DSRC and DGPS antennae mounted on horizontal arm attached to same pole • DSRC antenna needs clear view of cars on 11th Ave. • DGPS antenna needs clear view of the sky • Antenna cables attach to RSE and DGPS units inside enclosure, cables require protection from vandalism • GID for each intersection (Pilot FOT version) • Transmit SPAT (10 Hz), GID (2 Hz), and GPSC (1 Hz) messages on single channel (prefer CCH)
