  2. Starting out • Was born on May 9, 1746 in West Hartford, Connecticut and died on January 24, 1813. • Married April 17,1774 • He attended Yale college for law but didn’t graduate. After he was admitted to the bar he began practicing law in Massachusetts. • When the revolutionary war hit acted as a secretary on a Canadian expedition. • He was a federalist.

  3. Middle of life • He became part of the house of representatives 1780-1783 and then again in 1887-1888 • Became part of the state senate from 1884-1885 • Member of the continental congress in 1885, 1886, and 1888

  4. Continuing his life • Became a supreme court judge in for Massachusetts in 1802 until death.
