  3. GATSIBO DISTRICT IS COMPOSED OF THE FOLLOWING: • POPULATION : 433,997 • HOUSEHOLDS : 96,327 • SURFACE AREA : 1585,3 Km2 • SECTORS : 14 • CELLS : 69 • VILLAGES : 603

  4. ACHIEVEMENTS The population are the way of means of living basically depend on Agriculture i.e Crop production and Live stock farming.

  5. PILLAR I: Economic development

  6. 1.1 REVENUES COLLECTED In terms of revenue collections, in2012-2013 we shall endevour to maximise collecting taxes from all taxable sources.

  8. 1.2.4 MECHANIZATION: Mechanization center has been established in the District and so far 457ha was ploughed using tractors. As result, individual farmers have acquired their own tractor and 4 power tillant.

  28. ROADS The district has feeder roads networks with distance of 365km and out of that, 110km are in good state whereas 255km need rehabilitation.

  30. WATER In the District we have 567.5 km of water pipelines and out of that 189 km are operational.

Land use • Out 84,572 households, 61113 households are under community settlement( Imidugudu) • Master plans for Kabarore and Kiramuruzi towns have been completed as well as master plan for Development of Muhazi lack Shores. • Systematic land registration has been completed in all 14 sectors and land owners in four sectors have been issued with land titles.

HEALTH The District have got 2 hospitals since 2006,14 health centers in 2006 but we have 19 health centers in 2012, 2006 wasn’t health post but now 10 health post are available with 2,412 health community workers which implies that each administrative village have got 4 health community workers and 1 District pharmacy.

  45. In respect to promotion of Technical –know- how,in Gatsibo District, 2 TVET are operational and other 2 model TVET are soon to be completed in Gatsibo and Remera Sectors, 4 TVET schools will be operational by January 2013.
