  5. Taiwan The climate is tropical; marine; rainy season during southwest monsoon (June to August); cloudiness is persistent and extensive all year.

  6. Taiwan The Dragon Boat Festival is a commemoration of the patriotic scholar, poet, and statesman Cyu Yuan (circa. 340 – 277 B.C.), who lived during in the Warring States Period of ancient China. During this turbulent period, regional warlords annexed smaller states around them to consolidate their rule

  7. Taiwan Chiang and the remaining KMT forces fled to the island of Taiwan. There Chiang established a government in exile which he led for the next 25 years. This government continued to be recognised by many countries as the legitimate government of China, and Taiwan controlled China's seat in the United Nations until the end of Chiang's life. He died on 5 April 1975.
