  1. Did Jesus Really Perform Miracles?

  2. Introduction • What is my project based upon? • Jesus • Miracles • Science • Opposition from other groups • Experiment • Video

  3. What is this project based upon? • Ongoing feud between science and religion. • The distress and violence the subject has caused. • General interest in the topic.

  4. Jesus – Miracle Maker, or Magician? • Jesus was a man of a simple life, yet still managed to convince twelve men to leave everything and follow him. • He also apparently, walked on a surface which is seen to be impossible to walk on. • Some other miracles of his make him seem like he had impeccable timing, for example, the settling of the storm (Luke 8:22-25) • He also rose from the dead.

  5. Miracles • What are they? • Why did Jesus chose to perform these miracles? What did He gain? • How did people react to these miracles?

  6. Science – Logic or Truth? • Science presents us with believable theories and other explanations for the occurrences of miracles. For example Jesus walking on a sandbank instead of water. • Can these theories be trusted and be used as a substitute to what religion and Catholicism teaches us?

  7. Opposition From Other groups and Religions • Christianity has been opposed for centuries. Those such as Muslims – the Crusades in the Holy Land, and the Illuninati – from the age of reason (400 years ago) and of scientific beliefs. • These conflicts have been recorded in films such as “The Kingdom of Heaven” and in books such as “Angels and Demons”.

  8. Experiment • My experiment consisted of me mixing corn flour and water to give the physical attributes similar to water. • When these substances mix, they are a liquid until pressure is applied, and that’s when it turns into a solid and is capable of being walked on. • The mixture gives the same effects as sand when it saturates water. This experiment lends brief support to the theory of walking on a sandbank which science provides in contrast to Jesus walking on water. • Non – Newtonian Fluid.

  9. Conclusion • What can we draw from this project? • Which is more believable; Science and it’s Logic, or Religion and it’s ‘stories’ ? • Is there any, truly defined explanation, • or evidence for the occurrence • and/or existence of these mysterious • happenings?
