Most associates advance before 10 years. Salary compression at associate level
for men, but not women. Salary compression not a problem for full professors.

women’s compensation equivalent across ranks and men’s increasing with rank.
Men teach more than women at assistant and associate ranks, women do more
research. This is reversed at the full professor level.
