    1. Dear Parents, I cannot believe I have come to the end of my first term at Burlington Danes. I have enjoyed this term so much and I do believe we have achieved a lot. We have had numerous successes and the children seem to be really progressing in all sorts of ways. Some notable achievements were the Year 11 Prom (thanks to Ms Bell and Ms Okezie), our Summer Concert (thanks to Ms Smith and the Music and Dance department), our end of term play (thanks Ms Clements and Ms Davies) and all our trips. In addition, all pupils have taken end of year examinations and have received a position in the year group. These exams have been set and marked by subject staff with results displayed on notice boards throughout the school. These results will be sent to every parent before the beginning of next term. All year groups have had a Parents Evening and all existing parents have been given a free blazer and school bag voucher redeemable at Sogans in Hammersmith (tel 020 7385 1055). If any parents have not received these the lists are now at Sogans and parents should go to the shop with identification. Please remember all pupils must wear a blazer and a school bag in September. Year 11, only, have the privilege of being allowed their own school bag. Please note also that girls trousers must be blue, boys trousers charcoal grey and all shoes must be plain black kickers and trainers are not allowed. Girls skirts should be box pleat and knee length or longer. School coats should be plain navy or black with no logos. Year 7 have a new uniform and other pupils throughout the Academy are welcome to wear it. There are lots of exciting changes happening throughout the Academy over the summer. The Burlington block will be completely refurbished and we will establish a new school library. In addition, all our ICT facilities will be updated. The phone system is being overhauled as that has been a real source of complaint and I hope parents will see the difference. In October the new block will open and that will provide fantastic new facilities. I would like to thank you, the parents, so much. Without exception you have been supportive of me and I have really taken strength from your trust. I hope you know that the pupils happiness and achievement is paramount to me and that I share this with all of you. I look forward to the new school year with great optimism and I know our school will go from strength to strength. Best wishes Sally Coates Principal Academy News

    5. A Moment to Reflect Reaching the end of another eventful academic year provides us all with an opportunity to reflect on the progress we are making. Here we meet students from Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 as they look back on the year passed, and begin to look forward to September.
